The Oxide Blog

Dear Presenters,
As was said in the last Oxide email, we are coming to the end of the Oxide year, everyone has exams and (despite a fantastic shin-dig last Wednesday), a large number of you have decided to make the (very sensible) move of going into hiding in the run up to exams.
With this in mind, alongside the fact that in our drive to improve the station there are many great uses we can put these two and half weeks off-air to in continuing to increase Oxides professionalism and in resolving licensing issues, we have decided to end Oxide broadcasting for the year as of 6pm this evening.
We will, of course, be up and running again this Michaelmas term and are even looking into providing a new Freshers Week initiative, beginning broadcasting in 0th week, so keep reading your bulletins for more information on that.
We will also be appointing a new station manager in the very near future. Of course, lots of potential applicants do have exams and interviews can be organised around that. Please email us (katie.traxton@hertford.ox.ac.uk and laith.dilaimi@magd.ox.ac.uk) to express your interest or to ask for more information.
I hope you have had as wonderful a year as we and all the committee have, the station has come on leaps and bounds and may it continue to do so long into the future!
Fingers crossed for everyones exams,
Katie and Laith, Station Managers x

Hello Oxide listeners!
Please tune in tonight as Jack and I bring you the first 8 hours of 24DIO, the complete insanity wherein Oxide DJs bring you 24 continuous hours of programming to kick off the term. We will make progressively less sense throughout the night, starting at 12am, and if you do not listen it will all be for naught. So please tune in!
Enjoy,
Lila and Jack
