Join Oxide Radio!

We’re looking for new people to join our team for Michaelmas Term 2013! Whether you’ve already got a bit of broadcasting experience or are a complete newcomer to the joys of radio, we want you to join our team. We can give you all the help you need in terms of technical know-how; all you need is lots of enthusiasm. We’re looking for:

Show presenters/producers

These are people who present and produce their own show, usually on a weekly basis. You may already have a great idea for a new programme format, or maybe you have a passion for something that you want to share with others. All you need to do is complete our super-easy online ‘Show Pitch’ Form at tinyurl.com/oxidepitch – make sure you email programmecontroller@oxideradio.co.uk to say you’ve completed it.

Breakfast Show presenters

As part of the Breakfast Show team, you would have a weekly commitment to either the Saturday or Sunday breakfast programme, both running from 10am-12 noon. You will be abreast of the latest news, particularly stories directly affecting students, and be on the lookout for potential features that can be covered in the programme.

Reporters

We’re recruiting a team of reporters who will be responsible for going to events across Oxford and producing short audio reports for broadcast in our Breakfast programmes and in our dedicated news programmes. You will work closely with the Heads of News and Speech, but will also be on the lookout for original stories.

Music reporters

Fancy going along to some of the biggest gigs in Oxford for free, then bragging about how good it was on air and online? Thought so. We’re looking for more music reporters to join our existing team.

Comedy Writers/Producers

Oxide’s comedy line-up is going from strength to strength, with two hours of dedicated airtime a week given to brand new comedy last term. Fancy getting involved yourself? We’re interested in comedy in any and all of its forms: from quiz shows to sketch shows to monologues to improvisation. To find out more email oxide.comedyanddrama@gmail.com.

If you’re interested in any of these roles, or just want to find out a bit more, email stationmanager@oxideradio.co.uk
